Cristina Ward has worked in the Madrid cultural sector ever since moving to Spain from the UK in 1986. Her first jobs after arriving included working at the British Council, in the organisation of Madrid, Cultural Capital of Europe 1992 and at the National Youth Orchestra of Spain. In 1995 she began working at the Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) – The Spanish Performing Rights Society – and in 1997 moved to the SGAE’s newly created Fundación Autor, where she was in charge of organising the Fundacion’s national and international programmes promoting classical and contemporary symphonic and chamber repertoire by SGAE members.
Three years ago Cristina became a free-lance in the field of arts administration. She is currently the coordinator of the Spanish Association of Symphony Orchestras, and regularly collaborates with private and public cultural organisations undertaking the development and production of artistic events and activities both in Spain and abroad.
